LONELINESS

My heart went out for a young woman, from a Women’s Group that I am in on Facebook. On her status she asked, “What can I do about loneliness, I am so lonely.”

I felt tears gather in my eyes, because I understood exactly how she felt. I stopped and said a silent prayer, asking God to give me the right words, before I wrote my comments.

The other comments were encouraging her to keep active, but I wrote.

“Sometimes, it’s easy to push back the loneliness by engulfing yourself in activities, but there are times when even that doesn’t help. Loneliness seems to surround you no matter what you do or where you go. In those times, talk to God in earnest about the darkness that is descending upon you and then you need to speak to yourself. Say it out loud, there will be other thoughts drowning your mind. Speak to yourself. Remind yourself of who you are, in spite of the fact that you are alone. You are loved by a Majestic God! You are alive, healthy. Tomorrow is another opportunity. One that so many no longer have. An opportunity to walk into the fulfilment of God’s promise over your life. Say “I am made whole and complete in who God says I am, not by the people I have in my life”

Even as I am writing this, I remember being lonely while married, yes it happens! You need to understand that your wholeness is in God, not how much your spouse validates you or how much attention you receive from them. Any time you feel lonely, remember that, you have the attention of the Most High God 24/7. He cares about how you feel. Be encouraged, God is always with you, you are never alone.
